Volunteers' Week 2016 - who would you like to thank?

The annual campaign, established in 1984, recognises the contribution volunteers make to our communities every day. This year's focus is on providing an opportunity for beneficiaries to say thank you to their local volunteers.

Volunteers’ Week will take place from the 1st to the 12th of June 2016. It has been extended by 5 days this year to coincide with The Patron's Lunch on Sunday 12 June, a celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's lifetime of service to more than 600 charities and organisations on the occasion of her 90th birthday. By raising the profile of Volunteers’ Week in Scotland, and by encouraging key stakeholders to engage, the Scottish Volunteering Forum and Volunteer Scotland aim to raise awareness of the benefits of volunteering and celebrate the contribution of volunteers in Scotland.

We're working with the Scottish Government, the Scottish Volunteering Forum and a range of partners to ensure that Volunteers' Week 2016 is the best yet.

There are a number of ways for you to get involved:

1 - Tweet or post on social media using the hashtag #volunteersweekscot

2 - Join our Thunderclap and get Volunteers' Week 2016 in Scotland off with a bang

3 - Add your event to the Volunteers' Week map. NCVO helps with how to say thank you.

4 - Tweet or email some of our 'thank you' cards. Print / order your thank you postcards.
